Epoca Romana, or the Roman Era, refers to the time period in which the ancient Roman civilization was at its peak. This era started in 753 BC with the founding of Rome, and it lasted until the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 AD.
During this period, Rome expanded its territory through conquests and the creation of a vast empire that encompassed much of Europe, Africa, and parts of Asia. The Roman Empire also brought forth significant advancements in fields such as architecture, engineering, art, and literature.
The society of the time was divided into social classes, with the patricians and plebeians constituting the two most prominent classes. The Roman Republic was initially ruled by the Senate, but after Julius Caesar, the Empire was established, and the Emperor became the ultimate authority.
Some significant events that occurred during the Roman Era include the Punic Wars with Carthage, the emergence of Christianity, and the construction of iconic structures like the Colosseum and Pantheon. The fall of the Roman Empire is often attributed to reasons such as economic instability, military overspending, and invasions by barbarian tribes.
